Welcome to my blog!

Hi,
It's Sarah saying welcome to my blog site!  Thank you so much to Kim Niehans for suggesting that I make one.  This is all new to me, so sorry if I do any blog "faux pax".  I have been making jewelry for myself and friends for a while, and many have suggested that I sell my pieces.  As I am currently not in the work force (although mom to two crazy kids is often more work than a full-time job), I decided that NOW is the time to jump into this endeavor.

As many "artists" do, I often think to myself, am I ready for this?  I want to make more, learn more, perfect more.  But I think I probably would never find the perfect time, so I guess it's good to just get in there and get messy!

I have several friends who are already making and selling their work, and it is really exciting but also really intimidating!  Any words of wisdom are always welcome.

Up to this point, I have almost always given away my jewelry to friends.  I have loved doing so, but now is the time to put some value on my work.  So, I am working on building up my "inventory" of pieces.  Wow, is it hard to do with so much going as mom to a 3-year-old and 6-year-old.  I often end up cutting into my sleep time to just do a little work.  I am sure many moms can relate.

I have some ideas about getting my work out there, but as I mentioned, any advice is great!  Also, I would LOVE to be able to do a party for someone.  Yes, it's kind of like the jewelry catalog parties, but WAY COOLER  because all the pieces would be hand made by MOI.  And we don't have to play to stupid games, hehe.  The Hostess is welcome to make special requests for the type of pieces of interest, etc.  In addition to the pieces available, I am open to custom requests.

My biggest obstacle right now is time!! Where can I get more?

Please enjoy the photos of some sample jewelry.  I would LOVE to know what you think.  What do you like?  Any suggestions?
